create a board
A board is the container for posts, votes, and comments. Most teams start with one (“feedback” or “ideas”) and add more as the product grows.
create
Section titled “create”In the admin dashboard, go to boards → new board and enter:
- name (required): what users see at the top of the public board. Up to 80 characters.
- slug (optional): the url segment, e.g.
feedbackfor/b/feedback. Spirby auto-derives one from the name if you leave it blank. Slugs arekebab-case: lowercase, digits, hyphens. - description (optional): a short blurb shown under the board name.
The board is live as soon as you create it. Visitors can post, vote, and comment.
trial limit
Section titled “trial limit”On the free trial, you can have one board. Once you subscribe, the limit is removed even if you later cancel; your existing data stays.
If you try to create a second board while on trial, you will see a billing-limit error. Subscribe from settings → billing to lift the cap. See plans and trial.
delete
Section titled “delete”Boards are hard-deleted, and only when empty. To delete a board:
- Either move every post to another board, or soft-delete the posts.
- Open the board, click delete, and type the board name to confirm.
Spirby refuses to delete a board that still has posts so you do not destroy them by accident.
- board settings — hide roadmap or changelog. Logo lives at the workspace level.
- organize with tags, tag posts and let users filter.
